Do you have any pictures of the hitch?

Here's a homemade job from a TR3A. Appears to bolt through the rear chassis in two places on each side:

I will take pics of the NOS hitch today and post it here later - here's a scan of the instruction sheet. Sorry my description above was from memory and was a little off!

BTW, I have also "heard" of mounting an angle brace between the rear bumper supports and the bumper, then using that for the rear hanger support. Saves drilling into the bumper and is tucked up neatly out of the way. Maybe you could do this and then mount one of the pick-up step bumper hitch receivers to it. (Be aware that in this method, all of the toungue weight is then transferred to the bumper supports)

Don't need a trunk full of parts. Just alternate form of transport.

I had a photo of the home built receiver hitch, but if deleted a bunch of stuff when I switched computers. I was not real happy with it anyway, will build a new one, probably based on stuff I learn here.

dale, geez! i saw the amount of spares in your trunk on another post. wow! i drive my tr6 everyday and all i carry is a small set of sockets and wrenches. these cars are reliable enough to not carry all that stuff. hang tight youll get it there soon!
