TRafficator Signal LED Buzzer Thing

John Wells has a great answer to "forgetting" that you left your turn signal on....... Here's the gist of the email he sent out and I got mine yesterday. Pictures below.

"<span style="font-style: italic">Hello to all who have enquired about the LED/bleeper/flasher upgrade in the past. I have just built some more TR 'indicator bleepers' if you are interested in one (or more!) The price is ÂŁ15 each (+ ÂŁ1 postage UK) (ÂŁ2 overseas) for payment by PayPal to this email address ( jetstuff@dsl.pipex.com )Some cars do not have MES (screw in ) bulbs apparently (they have push-in or bayonet or some other type).I can supply MES (Minature Edison Screw) type only, or alternatively the existing bulb is removed and the two wires from the bleeper are connected across the bulbholder wiring with two 'Scotchloks' that I can supply instead of the bulb-base.....</span>"

The buzzer is piercing loud but can be toned down as much or as little as you want by just putting some tape over the sound hole. NFI.....but a very cool idea especially when you consider that you can also use it for the Oil warning light in which case a piercing sound is probably a good idea!

Cool...

Should be required equipment in all Buicks!

Maybe I'm missing something REALLY obvious, but....

I'll assume that's a light bulb on the end opposite the "sound hole." How does this attach to the instrument (or lens holder or whatever it attaches to, depending on application)? :confuse:

I bought one of these last year when I was considering rack&pinion on the 3A and would lose the self canceling feature. Its a nice little cottage industry John Wells has started, mostly because people saw what he did and they asked him to make one for them.

I'm sticking with a standard steering box on the 3A so no longer plan to use it for turn signals, but I think Bob has hit on a real good use, as a sound warning if oil pressure fails.

Years ago, JC Whitney sold a turn signal flasher that would play "Love Me Tender" to remind you that you've left the turn signal on. Now that we're "ahem" older, we start singing that song whenever the other one forgets.

Andy....... on a TR6 it just pushed into the hole on the back of the speedo for turn signals or the tach for oil pressure. It's actually easier to get to stay in then the stock unit.
