BJ7 adjustable steering wheel

Well what was a fairly easy job has turned out to be a nightmare. Dropped the roller at the end of the rotor into the body of the head and it would not shake out. As a result I have had to strip the head down to get the part out and I can not be certain how it goes back together again, chiefly because there is a copper ring with a spring tab on it and I am not sure of its position within the system, or what it does, can any one help with piccys etc. I have seen some details on the site in the past but can not find them/open them up.

Panic over, I have been able to get into one of Lin's posts with some piccys. There are extra piccys but I can not get into those.

Not quite that page but another with the same info on it. The head has been rebuilt already, but a word of warning to the wise - if you get an original rotor for a modern head, you will need to modify something- either the rotor of the Bakelite base or both.
Tolerances on the old stuff may have been a bit slacker or the dimensions for the new may have been a bit tighter. I had to carefully sand around the rotor body to get it to rotate as it was catching a bit, then I could not close the Bakelite sections together properly - still working on that as areas of the old rotor will get too thin especially around the box where the spring roller sits. the head works fine, it just does not self cancel - yet.
I think that I may need to reduce the bearing shoulder in the Bakelite base by just short of a millimetre to give the rotor more room, it will be a bit slacker then when I tighten the two bolts up.
