TR2/3/3A Trafficator base

I started making the stator tube and was going to test fit the head unit to see how the slot fit. The slot is a little tight but the part of the head that it slides into is a little rusty so I decided to take the head apart to clean that part. Once disassembled I discovered the broken base part that the wires connect to. All the pieces are there but broken out. I am sceptical of new replacement parts if available so I am considering casting my own part. This does not look to be a difficult part to cast but I am going to have to come up with a good part to make the mold. I am sure I could find one to purchase cheaper than making the new part,but like the entire restoration project there are opportunities to learn new skills. Any advise is appreciated. Frank

I may have a used or NOS part. Let me check and get back with you today, sometime. FWIW, TRF’s replacement trafficator (the whole control head) is very well made. They have them on sale for $125, but they don’t have the separate parts.

Thank you for the information. I am interested in a used part and definitely if you have a NOS part. No rush as years off on completion but as I encounter problems I solve it rather than having all the problems at the end. Let me know the condition, selling price and preferred way of payment.

Frank, I had a similar situation with an NOS part from a Standard Vanguard. The lower half had cracked apart but I used super glue to hold it in place, then JB Weld to reinforce where the stress was. Its a spare so never installed but works fine on the bench. You may be able to salvage yours, but I see yours broke where all the contacts are. There is room at the back to build up the reinforcing material.

The Vanguard unit uses a different piece for the arm, which is easily replaced with a TR one.
