Tracking Down Previously Owned Cars

This is more for the Brits who frequent this site. An expat here, who now he has got back into the hobby is curious what happened to his old cars. Presumably the registrations still stay with the cars and not the owner like in the US. If so, is there any way of chasing old reg's to see if the car is still alive? I have pics of my TR4 and TR5 (wish I still had that one) showing the reg plates. Still checking on my MGB and Elan Sprint. They were daily drivers back in the 70's so I didn't care about commision numbers etc.

Thanks

There is a website that you use to look up the registration numbers. Mind you, it will not tell you who owns a particular vehicle, but it will tell you if the car is currently registered or if it is no longer around.....I'll see if I can find it.

Cool Steve!!!

All my old cars are dead... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Thanks Steve.

My first 1962 TR4 went from red to green and then disappeared in 1980. My 68 TR5 disappeared in 1986. So much for that!

Feb 99.
Sure, some of my cars were old, V reg Mini etc, and expected to be gone. My brother snatched the motor and T5 from my cossie, but even my P reg company car was gone.
That cossie was fun, boy that M54 was a racetrack!
