Track day at Daytona

May the 13th I am getting a day of track instruction at the Daytona Speedway.
My new Abarth comes with a FREE day of instruction.
It will be on the full road course.
Best part is Fiat furnishes the cars. I can't wait to do a 4K clutch drop.
The day includes autocross, head to head precision driving and 3 flat out laps
on the road course.
Abarths are computer limited to 135mph by factory and the furnished cars are stock
so my dream of doing 200mph won't be achieved.
Flying down on the 12th and staying at the Hilton.
Fiat provides breakfast and lunch and the wife gets to attend for $100.
She also gets a ride around the track with a Pro.
The Abarths come with a USB port and the event will include a flash drive to record
data and several camera angles.
The event called Abarth Experience starts at 8:30am and lasts till 4:30pm.
i have to say I really love this Abarth. I had it up to 120mph yesterday and it was
amazingly stable. Little sucker will smoke tires.
it has a Sport mode which really changes the car, suspension, steering response, and engine
parameters. It also has 3 levels of traction/stability control. Full on, partial and none.
I am juiced!
Wife is juiced about the Hilton's Spa.
:cool-new::cool-new:

Sounds like a great little trip. Let us know how it goes.

I will. Maybe a video.
I gotta say the Abarth crowd loves my Sprite. :cool-new:

Where???????

I have to let the local law enforcement (Future Son-In-Law) to keep an eye out for you!!!!!!! HAHA!!!!!

Enjoy the Ride.

I seem to remember SOMEONE hitting about 90mph in the little thing and having to be reminded by ME that we were
approaching a curve.
I ain't naming names but if the shoe fits.:friendly_wink:

One of my pals will be attending as well. Got his a couple months ago.

Do you know what day he is running? I am on the 13th.
If he is there that day tell him to look for the old slow guy....that'd be me.
:cool-new:

He'll be there the same day. He's got a nice, clean "plain white wrapper" example.

Will do. Have fun, be safe!

...and we want pictures!

Still working on the videos....driver problems....software kind. The videos will show the driver problems....
knucklehead kind.
The things under steer. Braking is strictly a straight line thing. Stab them and cruise past apex then nail it.
track was limited and 3rd gear was top gear needed. Two tight turns in 2nd if you just HAD to shift but
a lot of fun. They have a clunky funky gearbox. No snick there. Clunky. Like a forced pause. I did hit the rev limit
in 3rd once. Hey it ain't my car. My pro was a girl. She told me to stay off the bumps.
I had one save. She called it. She drove the wheels off it in her hot lap. I don't have those skills.
Very different experience from the Sprite. I would say Sprite is MUCH more fun in that setting than the
Abarth.
i wasn't particularly fast at anything but I did beat the white haired granny and some girl who learned
straight drive 6 weeks ago.
Your pal was a super guy. Invited us to poolside party but the couple we brought with us wanted to
do some stupid crap so we missed out. Nice guy. Tell him of my and my wife's regrets.
Bottom line ...Fiat is a fun day to day driver. Sprite is an AWESOME icon. Me and the Sprite would
kick an Abarth's arse.

Looks like you had some fun, but as much as if you had been in the Sprite.

Hey Blue Max,

Why have`nt I seen your Caterham cruising around "Easley or Pickens"? What other LBCs do you have? We need to get some LBCs together one day & have a Brew or Two!!

Regards, Russ
