TRA at Kentucky Lake - June

Is TRA taking later model Triumphs now? I thought they were TR2-4 only.

That they are, but I'm driving one of my MGB's over to meet some of our members.

So sue me!

Mickey, how many Triumphs are typically at this event?

here's an overview shot of the 2010 event... lot's more pix on the link to the 2013 event as well. Not sure if the scope has changed. Back in '10 it was almost all side screens...

I don't laugh out loud often reading this stuff and can't bring myself to use the correct term but.....

?

No idea. It was one of hundreds in my 2010 TRA folder. I was trying to give Michael an overview sense of how big the event was.

Frank, I don't know what route you are taking to get to Athens, Ohio, but it sounds like you might be running some nice back roads. If you happen to be going through Sistersville, WV, there is a pretty cool ferry across the Ohio. I was in the eastern mountains of WV last week enjoying the scenery. Those are some good TR roads.

Just heard from Lou Metelko, who suggested Wednesday lunch, as there are activities on Thursday and Friday. Frank, any chance you can get there a day earlier? And Ed - what do you think?

Again, I'm flexible, but will only be able to run over there once.

Mickey, et al:

It may work out after all. My wife has been suffering with a sore back for about two weeks. She really needs to get rest and avoid anything that could aggravate it - like 1800 miles in a TR3A. So, she will not be joining me. I am now able to re-route the trip for interstate highways and can make better progress. Thinking about staying over in Elizabethtown, KY on Tuesday night. An early start on Wed. morning would put me in Kenlake park late morning. Right now I fell that this is 90 percent prob.

Regards,

Frank:smile-new:

Sounds good... not about your wife, though. 1800 miles in anything, especially a TR, can do anyone in!

Lou will be calling me when he arrives; I can be there most any time.

Mickey: Lou and I may link up along the way. I have decided to stay overnight near Lexington. Regardless, I now plan to arrive at Kenlake Park late morning, Wed. 6/12.

Theres over a hundred members of TRA and last years event that I went to was a blast. Large caravans to points of interest nearby. If you're pondering attending, I would suggest attending the day of the car show. The concourse cars are absolutely beautiful and I learn something new about the cars every time i'm around the club.

Good deal. I'll plan on Wed. morning.

Looks like the weather's going to be nice - little warm, but only slight chances for rain.

Looking forward to seeing y'all!

I will be there but not until late Thursday.

I'm not a TRA member but would like to go and see the cars. Can you just walk in to the car show part of this, or pay admission to the show only.

Well, I'm crashing the party with an MGB, so come on! :excitement:

I hope there are a lot of party crasher with cars. I look at a TR3 every morning, having my coffee and cigarette in the garage. Love seeing other nice LBCs also.
