Going to look at a 1980 Tr8 Saturday. I was told to check vin numbers so to verify that it is not a TR8 clone. It does have some chrome valve covers. MSD ignition. Heavy rust in the front fenders that is going to have to be cut out and patched in.
 
rt side. Left side looks 1/2 as bad.

The VIN for a LHD US TR8 convetible will be TPVDV8 (US Federal Manual) or TPZDV8 (Claifornia Manual. The fifth character is engine type so a J is 4 cylinder TR7 and V is V8 TR8.
