Need info on the proper or best timing for my TR8. Thanks for any help!

That is a great question. I spent most of two summers trying to fine tune my timing for my 8. No one with a timing gun seemed able to get it set. After talking to Woody he relayed the story of how he had seem very few 8s with the time marks on the crank pully actually matching. I am waiting with great anticiaption for these answers. I do have a factory tech manual if any one needs anything looked up ( I will look up timing there tomorrow to see what it says)

my rangie (with the 3.9 liter v8) i ended up setting at 12 btdc by my timing light for best performance. i don't know which is less accurate, the timing mark on the pulley or the timing light itself.

Well, right now I have mine set at 8, but I am going to swing by my mechanic on Thursday, and he is going to push it up to 10. I just put in my new Mallory, and the timing had to be re done after it was installed. Spoke to Woody, and he suggested a timing of 8, but when I drove it home, I noticed it did not have as much umph! So he suggested trying 10. Will let ya know!

Thanks

Rod
