Wedge TR8 rear wheel bearing noise / replacement

I have a noise coming out the back that sounds like a worn bearing. It is worse if the car is rolling without power, but goes away when power is applied.

The rear end I have is stock to the FI TR8 and has never been opened or touched in the 23 years I owned the car short of changing the gear lube( I have been using 90 weight oil).

While I intend to check all the bushings I recently replaced and ensure the shock are nice and tight, I suspect my issue resides in the axles or rear-end. Do I just start swapping bearings.....or is the preferred sequence to trouble shoot this?

BTW the car runs perfectly fine....just some noises.....

I am glad you asked, I have had three different axles and they all did this. I just assumed they all did this. MY issue now is I have a vibration when I do a gradual left turn (like in a bend in a road, not making a turn) I wonder if it could be a rear bearing related issue

I think that a wheel bearing would make noise whether power was applied or not. My 4 speed rear end makes noise when coasting and I think that the pinion bearing either needs r/r or the previous owner didn't set the gear mesh properly when he replaced the pinion seal.

I paid a shop about $800 to rebuild my spare 5 speed rear end including all new bearings, brakes, etc. I have a specially made wrench if for the nut on the pinion shaft if you need to borrow it.

That vibration sounds like it may be a spider gear bearing/bushing, or just worn spider gears.

why would it only be in gradual left turns, I do not under stand axles. I thought it might be bearings in the front so I swapped them out and it did not help. how hard is it to replace them?

I don't know. ISTM that spider gears rotate in different directions on right and left turns, depending on which wheel is travling faster and which is being driven. I think the slower (inside) wheel is being driven w/o locker. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, please.
May not be rear end?
Tires, broken belt?
Alignment?
I don't know.
If I have a revelation, I'll let you know.
