Thanks Todd. The only tartan (plaid) showing is on my door panels anymore. I have some of those 'seat saver' covers on the seats. The material there had been worn very thin. If they still offered Red Tartan seat kits I would be tempted to recover them as original. No dice currently though. :frown:

It still does turn some heads, mostly from the V8 rumble I think. I've also had a few, who were evidently at least slightly informed, ask if it is a real TR8 coupe and how rare it is.
 
Shawn-Someone is reproducing the red & black check material and I think it was $75.00 for enough material to cover 2 seats. I will be getting a sample and from what I have seen you could recover the seats and order some extra and match the door panels.
 
Do you have the contact info for them?

Not related to my car, but do you know if someone is reproducing the green tartan too?

I have a set of green tartan door panels in pretty good shape, if needed.

I love the plaid. Years ago, when I was building the yellow and green TR8 coupe for racing, Mike talked me into using the green plaid door panels. If I'm not mistaken, he gave them to me. Thanks again Mike. They are the coolest thing on the car. Exterior is painted OSHA safety yellow, John Deere green and a bright medium green. Paint Scheme was also thought up by Mike. Open the door and you are greeted by those bright door panels and a bright yellow roll cage. It gets all kind of compliments. I once saw a white coupe with the green plaid and green carpet. It was awesome looking.
 
Todd-those were the days! Dont forget to mention how to install the roll cage too from one car to another! My white coupe you remember had the green check and green carpet. Now that it is getting gutted the only things left inside will be the original green check door panels, dash, armrest and thats it. The inside is going to be either bright white to match the body or semi-gloss black to cut down on glare. By the way my Blue TR8 coupe is heading to Canada this weekend.

Shawn-It all depends on the volume sold. There is a set up fee obviously but supply and demand thing. The next check will be the green & black. I will get you the contact information.

Thanks Mickey, the guy I know that needs the green and black needs it for seats. His door panels are still good. I'll let him know in case he needs some extra panels though.

Caught my attentioon enough to look at the sunroof surround. It is lifting in the front middle just like mine though. Bummer.
