Wedge TR8 motor rebuild budget - I'm losing it.

I'd love to do an engine for you, but my suggestion would be to have the basic machining done by a good shop and then do the build yourself. You wouldn't believe the thrill of the first firing of an engine you built yourself.

As for the Cobra vs. TR8, they're hard to compare and I love them both for completely different reasons. The 8 is a blast to drive because it has plenty of zip and I (or my wife) can take it down to the local Wal-Mart without going through a space shuttle checklist. On the other hand, the Cobra is a blast to drive because it'll scare the living crap out of you, it's loud, it rides like a truck, it's hot, it smells like gas and oil...I LOVE IT!

Would I trade one for the other? Not on your life.

Tom

ps: if you're interested, I can probably hook you up for a ride in SoCal with one of the guys on ffcobra.com. They're a great bunch of guys and would love to bring another Cobra fanatic into the fold.

Try putting a little oil or ATF in each cylinder. It will help build compression quicker and will lube the cylinder walls until oil pressure is built up. I have always heard Marvel Mystery Oil is good for this, but have yet to try any. $0.02 /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif
