Wedge TR8 Intake System Conversion

There are two fan switches. One on the mani and one on the rad. They cut in at different temps. Both are overriden by the AC system. Not sure why they did this, just know it's a pain to work on. My solution has always been to install an aftermarket single electric fan with an adjustable temp switch mounted to the outside of the radiator. This becomes a little more difficult if one was inclined to keep the AC, but doable. You can rig it so the rad switch acts as the only switch.

Remembering that the system was designed in the seventies, the stock setup was pretty ingenious, if not complicated. At medium temp, the fans cut in at approximately half voltage, and if the temp got critical, or if the A/C was turned on, full voltage was delivered for high speed - all through a system of relays.

As long as the relays are in good shape, and the wiring/connections sound, the system works well. Any time you make changes to it, all the above needs to be kept in consideration.

Thanks for that tap size....I'm going to try and not upset anything too much so I'm going to tap into the manifold and have everything work as designed...or close to it.
