Wedge TR8 Intake Manifold color?

I was cleaning gray paint off my spare Rover V8 intake manifold and wondered if I should repaint it gray or leave it natural. My 3.5 liter out of my TR8 is natural color, so does this mean that some applications painted the manifold and some didn't? Or that my TR8 had previously been gray and was left natural after the rebuild? My spare manifold is from an unknown application but came with two SU's instead of ZS's.
 
They came with a grey intake, and valve covers. Not sure on the air boxes, but I think they were black. At least the five that I have removed and sat on a shelf in the garage are all like that. Intakes look real nice with a ceramic coating on them. Makes them easy to keep clean.
 
Is there a special "Rover Grey?"
