Wedge TR8 Hydraulic lifters - Replace?

My valley pan seal in the back sprung a leak...

To replace that I needed to pull the plenum & intake. So they went off to be powder coated along with the valve covers.

Once the valley pan gasket is out I can then see the hydraulic cam followers.

I can pop off the rocker assemblies pretty easily and pull the push-rods out....

The cam shaft and the entire internal engine is completely original.

I have a set of new hydraulic cam followers that just arrived from Rimmers.....

Should I put them in? Do I need to "prime" them if I do?

You will need to dump them in a can of oil to fill up with oil and as a precaution put some cam break in lube on the cam lobes and bottom of the lifters. It's rare for a lifter to go bad unless its an oiling issue and from that you lose a lobe and drop a cylinder. The cams are soft and do wear.
