Wedge TR8 Headers: Rimmers versus Woody/TSI

Buy the stinkin tubes and let me know

Yes-the gas tank, and exhaust are in but the rear suspension needs the shocks bolted in to be complete. (I reinstalled the springs after having them sit uncompressed for a year, and even with the weight of the car the axle, the rear suspension needs to settle before I can stretch the shocks enough to bolt them in! I may need to add some weight to the trunk, too bad Tdskip (AKA Tom) lives so far away, he has tons of spare triumph parts)

So what was the question? I have A/C on my car (and it needs a charge, but works) What is the question about the bracket?

There's a stud on the drivers side factory manifold that helps hold the pump bracket.
Randy's concerned it is needed and what to do with it if headers are used.

OK.... But how come some Brit back in the late 70's decided that support bracket was necessary and now some hot shot Amereecan says we don't need no stinkin bracket?

Randy -

Paul (Brosky) has the TR8 I built. The A/C bracket was moved to a point on the block, if I recall. Thought I might have a picture here, but can't seem to locate.

Paul?

I think the Wedge is still in hibernation at Woody's.

You won't need the rod, but if you still feel the need to have one, I suggest bending up a new support rod that mounts under one of the header bolts or to the engine mount bracket. I just finished fabricating a new set up to locate the power steering pump on a friend's car. He has a Buick 215 timing cover and lots of shiny pulleys that prevented using the stock brackets to locate the pump. Boy it gets tight under there in a hurry.

Yeah, I thought it was overkill, and it sure makes adjusting the belt a pain!

I don't use mine then I also have it turned off at the computer

Mine's in storage, but not for much longer if this weather keeps up.

Put a plate covering the EGR pipe on top of the intake after you remover the Whole thing. Becareful the wraping is asbestos.
