I need to replace my fuel pump. What is the best thing to do? Put on a new original one, or something after market? I have the Holley 390 with the edelbock manifold on the car.

Thanks!

The stock style pump is supposed to be just fine for the 390.

Any idea what the proper fuel pressure should be for the Holley 390?

Thanks!

Thanks! I need a new fuel pump. Any local places that might carry one? I want the in tank one, not one that is out of the tank. I also need a new oil pressure switch.

Thanks!

This link is from the Wedgeparts website. I found it invaluable when my pump died earlier this year. Take your old one with you when you go to the parts store and match it up just to be safe though.

fuel pump list

Or, if you are not in a hurry and can wait for it to ship, wedgeparts , TSI , wedgeshop will probably have the correct pumps sitting on their shelves as well.

Either should have the oil pressure switch as well. I found one at my local NAPA store for $8. Listed in their books too. Actually, many parts for the engine can be sourced through your local parts houses.

Any idea on the NAPA part # for the oil pressure switch. As for the Fuel pump, spoke to Brad at WedgeParts yesterday, and was able to locate AC DELCO #EP31. Hopefully this will work. My mechanic is going to put it on this afternoon.

Thanks!

That number is for a single blade. My original was also a single blade. my car is very early in production though, #15.

There was just a discussion on the wedge list about the three pole/blade sending units. I think the consensus was that it is the same as the TR6. NAPA BA 2011102. I'm not definite on that matter though.

I'm using a NAPA Universal external fuel pump with an Edelbrock 500 and it's worked fine for me for around 5000 miles. The only drawback I can think of is that it's a little noisy, but once the engine is started, who cares?

Don't know if you found a O.P. sending unit yet but there's a NOS one on ebay (search on TR8) currently going for $.99.

I must have the same NAPA fuel pump as you, I can hear it pumping as the car idles.... but it works fine so I have not messed with it
