Wedge TR8 Coupe on E-bay

Saw that one, and I'm watching it. Not in a position to bid, but it does look promising.

Hmmm...

What's the law regarding "original equipment"? I believe the auction includes the original carbs and manifold. And the car actually is a Canadian '79 model (even though it was sold in '80) - does that have any bearing on the statutes?

Bringing it into the States should not be a problem IF the car has the appropriate DOT and EPA standards certification, i.e. the right plates and stickers. (Actually, given that it's over 25 years old, even that might not matter?) Registering it in California might be another story....

I snatched up another coupe around New Years. It's a maroon with tan interior, ACN pre-production coupe with an automatic and a sliding moon roof. It appears to be all original, and it needs a complete restoration. I could be be persuaded to let it go to a good home without too much effort. I don't have enough room for it right now, so it is over at a friends house. He is starting to take a likeing to it and keeps asking what I am going to do with it. If I sell it to him, I feel obligated to only charge him what I paid for it, and he will be over my house looking for parts and help for the thing. Selling it to him is a no win proposition for me. I've been down this road with a brother in law once. I'm in the middle of three to five different projects now, (depending on your point of view) so I won't be able to start on it my self for several more months. Anybody interested?

I want Larry's TR8 convertible.
Don't we ALL? /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/iagree.gif

so i'm not out of my mind by taking my tr8 running gear and putting it into my '76 FHC!

Well, he says he knows a lot about them but not enough. Its not a pre-production car. It is an early production coupe but not pre-production. It fours cars younger than mine. The TCN's were production cars. ACN's were the pre-production and most of them were built in 1977 and early 1978. Doubtful the true mileage is only 999Km as well. Other than that... looks nice and would probably make a great car. BTW, coupes are awesome! Especially those with working A/C! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wink.gif

For those left coasters on the list, I have a 76 FHC shell that is ready for a big honking V8 as well!

Larry - anyone local who can check it out for you?
