Wedge Tr8 Cooling fans

Just got back from a 600 mile round trip to Watkins Glen. Everything went well except one of 2 cooling fans did not work - so it got a bit warm in stop and go traffic.

Any ideas of where to start looking first? Fuse, motor, wire connection points, switch?

Is this a known identified TR8 problem?

They are both controlled by relays located behind the left headlamps along with other AC components. One gets the signal to turn on from the temp switch on top of the manifold. The other gets the signal from the temp switch in the drivers side of the radiator. They will both go on automatically if the AC is engaged. Independent of the AC, they should come on at slightly different temps. The tricky part is that one of the relays switches power going to the fan and the other switches thru the ground. The one that switches thru the ground, should have power all of the rime. Unless you stumble across a dirty connection, be prepared for a good fight. All of this only applies if you still have the stock intake. If someone installed a four barrel, then the most common scenario is to get the signal from the radiator only and have them come on at the same time.

Todd - my car still has stock manifold and carbs and even has original air pump still in place. The ac is out right now - I need to rebuild or replace the compressor - a winter job.

Don - nope - never knew such a diagram existed. Sounds like I need to know where to find it, and then get real famiiar with it. Is it on line somewhere?
