I have a 1980 TR8 and the low coolant light came on. I checked the fluid level and it is full, I bleed the any air out of the system and added antifreeze to the overflow tank. All I can figure is the sending sensor has failed, but I have no idea wear it is located. I have checked all my manuals and still can not find what it looks like or wear it is located. Could someone tell me the location of the low coolant sensor.

Scott. The sensor is on the side of the tank. There should be a tab coming off it.

Cleaning the probe it might take care of the issue, but be careful of the fitting since it will be brittle from the engine heat and age.

Let us know if that doesn't do the trick.

After having my tank ceramic ed, I replaced the rubber part of the probeunit

Thanks to all that posted. The wire must have fallen off and got wedged in with the light wires, so I couldn't see that it was off. I reconnected it and all is good. It surprises me that there is so little about it being in the fill tank. Once I saw the picture that DNK posted, it was easy to find. Thanks again.
