Can anyone tell me a part # for a TR8 Alternator belt. I am having a new alternator put on tomorrow, and thought I would have them replace the belt as well. But need a part # so I can hopefully find one here in town @ either Autozone or Pepboys.......

Thanks!

They both should have the numbers in their computer. TR8 parts aren't as difficult as one would expect. I put new belts on a car about a month ago, and I just went to the counter and asked for belts for a 1980 TR8.

Yep - bought mine at O'Reilly's - they had the correct belt listed.

At any rate, I'll look at mine and see what the number is later this evening.

Still wondering what other TR8 owners have for Alternators. Original or an upgrade.

I bought a Lucas A133 80. I am hoping it will work. Anyone know for sure?

Thanks!

I've parted out so many TR7s that I should have a lifetime supply of Lucas 17,20,and 25ACR alts laying around. The coolest one I've seen in a TR8 is a little tiny one used on a Mitsubishi fork lift. Seen a ton of the GM ones and never heard any complaints.

I wnet with a GM, and got it from Advanced with a life time warranty which I have taken advantage of twice. I do like Woody's ne alternator bracketrs hs had made up, a lot more stout looking than the original one. I snapped teh original on last time I switched out and had to have it welded. PITA. Should have bought the new bracket
