Wedge TR8 A/C Hoses

I am in need of the TR8 A/C hose-pipes that connect to the condenser.

Any ideas where to get them?

Ted did not have them, Team Triumph had nothing around but is looking......

Alas.... Classic Tube does not do AC hoses.

For the record, I installed all 5 tubes on my new rack & pump. They look really nice.

Well, shoot! I was going to recommend Rparts.com as they made up A/C hoses for my Stag; but apparently they are out of business!

Randy, There has got to be a Hydrolic (sic) company near you. Remove them and take em there and they will copy them,prolly in SS if you ask nice and carry a big check book

Like Don mentioned, most communities have a hydraulic supply house. Where commercial hoses, lines, bearings, etc can be procured.. Or truck repair shops(semis- if they don't build hoses, they should be able to refer you to a place) or even aviation repair shops(head for your local airport).

I had the good fortune to find an indy A/C shop that made hoses to fit what ever was presented. BUT mine were metric and he did not have any metric fittings. Some how he cut my fittings off the old hose and use them with a new hose. Look great and did not cost much. It was on a BMW and lasted more than 115k miles (sold the car it was still working with out leaks).

Yes....keep your metal ends in good shape when you remove them, the place that did mine replaced only the rubber part of the hose and reused the metal ends. They did a great job, cold air for the last several years...that says a lot for Alabama.

Be sure they use the right hose, though. "Hydraulic" is not the same as "refrigerant". I had a local shop tell me they could do it over the phone, but when I got there, they didn't have the right kind of hose in stock (and no idea when it would come in).

Jody, I have a complete AC system take out from an 80 carbed tr8 if your interested. Trick is to make sure your car had ac originally. If your car doesn't have the original wiring in place, it will get very tricky. Lots of heavy pieces.

I'm still trying to get some decent documentation/books. The ones with the car were published in 1977/1980 respectively, so they don't contain any specific information as it may pertain to the 1981 models.

Based on what I've been able to decyper so far, it looks like there was only one wiring harness, so all the electrical connectors (unless they were actually cut out) should be in place. I found a few moments ago that Wedgeparts.com sells nice color diagrams, so I just ordered one.
