Wedge TR8 A/C Hose Fitting thread sizes at Condenser?

I believe that the problem is now very close to being resolved. I got a new 160 thermostat and installed it the other day. I only put about 15 miles on it, but the temp gauge stays mid-way between 1/4 & 1/2 after running hard and then idling for a while. I'll get it out this weekend when it's really hot again for the test.

Additionally, as many small things can add up, I blew through the hose (at the tank end)from the bleeder on the manifold to the expansion tank and at first, it was blocked. After a few good puffs, it cleared and the coolant in the tank was gurgling.

I went with the 160 because I have plenty of heat in the car in the winter with it and I wanted it to open sooner, rather than later, to try to help keep it cool.

I'm using a 160F thermostat also. I have the fans set to turn on at 190F. I'm only using single speed one aftermarket fan and one manually operated fan. However, I don't have AC or PS.

Phil, mine comes on at 1/2, which I know has a correlation to a specific temperature, but from using my infra red gauge, it appears to be in the 190 to 200 range. I will look at that more closely now that I've made progress and will be checking the remaining details out. It's supposed to be hot this weekend, so when I get a chance to drive, it should be a good test.

Make sure the new t-stat has a bypass hole in it, or your 4 barrel intake has a bypass drilled in it. Small oversight on Edelbrock's part.
