Wedge tr7 radiator fan

After about 4000 miles, with a new pulley, viscous clutch and fan, the fan came of the pulley and spun into my new radiator. It seemed the fan tolerence ring released. I bought it from moss motors, and it was the correct part. Has anyone else had this happen? It there a cure? I do not want to use an electric fan, I want the car to look as original. Any ideas? Thanks

Sorry to hear about the damage. That seems like a lot of expense to go to and then to have to do again thru no fault of your own. Never seen that happen before. Seen tons of fan clutches go bad, but never toss the fan blade. I'll add this to the list of reasons why I like aftermarket aluminum radiators, adjustable fan relays and electric fans on wedges.
