Wedge TR7 problems.

Well, I have a 1980 TR7 with 5 speed trans.
I have been told to use ATF fluid in the trans.
What brands & type should I use. Dextron etc.

Also have a problem with the headlights not coming up & looked at the 2 relays each side of the fuse box.
I can get the outer one out, but how the heck do you get the inner one.
I have not checked them yet so this may not be the problem.

Also looking for a few parts,
Thank You

Hey, "goodtimes" -

Ditto on the GM Synchromesh - you can find it as Pennzoil Synchromesh fluid, available at all the major resources.

With regard to the headlight operation, a vast majority of the problems can be attributed to poor grounds or connections. Unplug all the wires and clean them up and reconnect, using vaseline or some other protectant. Your problems may go away. First line of attack.

X 3 on the GM Synchomesh oil. You need this stuff:

Thanks folks, hope I will get this solved.
Also someone has rewired the rev lamps, I checked the switch on trans & it works fine & still has the 2 wires.
But it is not hooked up to anything.
The rev lamps come on when the Ign is turned on, so direct feed from Ign system.
Where did the original switch wires run to, engine bay etc.

Do you have a wiring diagram? Not trying to be a smart-xxx, they are awfully handy.

If not we can try to dig up a diagram for you.

Yes I do have the manual, but if the wires have been removed.
What next !
I am trying to find where the 2 wires would have connected to the main harness.

Thanks again.
