Wedge TR7 FASD vs. Manual

Hello all,

Long ago, I owned a daily driver TR7. I loved that car very much, and when the auto choke conked out, I had a manual choke installed as many do. My car never ran the same again. Ever. I eventually sold it and cried.

I am now looking at another '80 TR7 that has had this conversion. Would I be paranoid to be wary of this conversion? Is it usually a good idea? Could mine just have been wrongly installed before? How can I know?

Thank you,

Brad
