Wedge TR7 Clutch Throw out noise?

My 5 speed TR7 is covered comfortably in my garage for the winter in Buffalo! As I plan for future repairs in the spring, I find I have an issue. Last year, when I would depress the clutch, engine running, the tranny makes a clanking sound. When the clutch is released, in gear or not, the sound stops. For about three months, the sound went away, now it is back. It has gotten a bit louder, and there may be a vibration comming from the tranny. (not sure where it is from?). My thought is that this is a throw out bearing issue. I plan to have a new clutch, throw out and tranny mount installed in the spring. My question is, could this be something else? I would really hate to spend this money, and have the problem continue. Could this be a ARM issue, or could the shaft be bent....i hope some tr7 owner has had this before. Thanks to all /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/driving.gif

I sounds like an extremely worn throw out bearing to me, my 61 MGA had that exact problem a month or two ago...I fiddled with the throw out adjustment on the master cylinder and it stopped noise for now....when I comes back I'll replace the whole clutch and bearing....I am not sure if the mc adjustment will be as successful for ya(or if it's applicable for TR7's)but it's worth a try.
