hey ever one /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif what`s that proper way to fill the oil in the damper resevoir on a zennith stromberg carb # 175 CD-2
 
I usually fill to about an inch from the top. All you really need is enough to feel resistance in the last half inch or so as you push the piston down. If you fill them to the top you will always be refilling them.

What weight oil you use will depend on how you drive, what the outside temperature is and whether you have dinner or supper in the evening at your house (i.e. somewhat a matter of opinion).
 
After you fill them, if you have the air cleaners off, simply raise the pistons with your finger. If you've overfilled the resevoir, the excess oil will spill out the top.
