Wedge TR7 Carb base mounts/gaskets

So one of my issues with my TR7 is that it started running horribly (and not idling.)

Turns out my carb base mounts are shot (the rubber spacers for the Strombergs where they mount to the intake manifold,) and the carbs are pulling away under throttle!

If anyone has any extras, please let me know and I'll buy them...I have some for SUs, but not for TR7/Strombergs, and I'm trying to avoid paying $35 each from Vicky Brit, who will give me faulty parts for my money!

THANKS!!!
Sam

Sam,
I am 98% sure I have two or more in a box in the garage. I will do a search tomorow. Just have to find the right box, either from the TR7 ( ZS's ) or from the MGB GT ( SU's ).
I will let you know.

Paul

Paul...funny, I have some from an MGB GT too! (somewhere in my crud pile in my garage...)

If you can find them, let me know your price and I can Paypal or send a check!
Thanks!!!
Sam

Hello Sammy,
If you can get some at a price you are happy to pay, that's fine. For your information I have discarded these flexible mounts and just made up solid spacers. (This was on my daughters Dolomite saloon car) They did not adversely affect the running at all and no chance of any further deterioration.
I would add that you seem to have let one mistake by VB rather colour your views. (See my last post re temp gauge)
Spare parts are a nightmare to source for older cars and the occasional mistake is inevitable.

Alec
P.S. I didn't think that MG used these flexible mounts? They often fitted a solid insulating block.

Actually, it wasn't one issue by VB...I've had two or three other times the parts either arrived bad/broken, or in one case, a fender mirror broke three months later, and it looked like it was basically cheap chromed plastic.

Hey Sam,
I have 2 extra used ones in fair shape. You can have them just pick up the postage. Can e-mail a pic.

Heh, I'll toss my name in with the "have a couple spare" crowd. Let me know if you need them.

Hey Mark or Rick. If you have the mounts accessable right now, go ahead and look after Sam. Me thinks mine are up in the loft behind the Christmas jun, er decorations and tree. I only go up there once... and my son goes up there the return trip, and this isnt the time yet.
Sorry Sam.
