Wedge TR7 air pump, and air cleaner

In the spring, i am going to have my TR7 DHC tuned. I am going to convert to K&N air cleaners, and am wondering if I should remove the air pump. Anyone have comments or experience with either of these????Thaks /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/driving.gif
 
You'll limit saleability of the car in some areas. Some states require the equipment to be in place in order for the car to be registered.

I experimented a bit with my '76 wedge and found that the car idled better with the pump on. Go figure.
 
Interesting, NY State does not trequire emissins for a car this old....so that is of no concern. Thaks JOHN /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/driving.gif
 
There are only a handful of places that require a car that old to have an air pump. California is one of them.

You can always disconnect it, take the pump off and throw it on the work bench. The thing weighs a lot, so it's good for an overall weight-reduction program for your car! If you ever sell it, you can throw it in the trunk and let the new owner throw it back on.
