TR6 TR6 windshield paint color

All,

I've got the winshield prepped and ready for painting, and now a little doubt has seeded in my mind.....

Is semi-flat or glossy black the right color???? I think it's the semi-flat; I'm sure I've seen something on here before, but for the life of me I cant find it.

Thanks,
Mark

Painting the windshield black makes it hard to see. I agree with yankeeTr , it should be left clear.
Now if your talking about the frame, semi-gloss, or satin black is the color of choice.

Ho and, if you will, ha! Ok, teach me not to read things over: windshield frame!

Thanks..

Use Krylon Semi-Flat Black, usually available at WalMart and other fine stores. Krylon paint is a top-qualtiy paint. Same paint can be used on the Kamm back.

Exactly what I've used. Excellent paint.

Thanks,
Mark

Satin and semi gloss are pretty much the same thing (between gloss and flat) based on the brand.

If it is off the car I suggest you powder coat it. Never have to worry about rust and those nasty bugs can be scrubbed off with out worry to the paint.

when I had mine out, sand blasted the windscreen frame, primed with a 2 part epoxy primer, and since I had some 2 part gloss black, thats what it got. it looks good to me

Thats is what is really the important thing!! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/iagree.gif

Used Krylon Semi-flat per recommendation on the
net and I think it looks good. Had it removed and
sand blasted first. Seems to be holding up well to the
bugs, etc.
