Thanks to all of you on the forum, my car gets just a little better every time I work on it. My current project is getting the windows to work. (My wife won't ride with me until I get them installed and working - I have no top at the moment.) The windsheild frame was not on the car when I bought it. The winding mechanism was missing teeth on the driver's side door, and the window guides were totally shot on both sides. I stripped and painted the windsheild frame. I then installed the windsheild frame and finally the windsheild itself (with the help of a friend.) I replaced the winding mechanism on the driver side, and then fit in new guides. My current problem is, is the space between the windsheild frame uniform in distance between the top and bottom of the glass? If not, what would be reasonable distances? My windows vary between the top and bottom in distance to the windsheild frame by an inch I would guess. It doesn't look right. I have no weather stripping or window scrapers installed at the moment. I don't see how I can adjust the windows any more to make them fit better. Since I have never seen this car together before, I am not what it should look like. Any tips would greatly be appreciated.
