TR6 TR6 wanted

I'm looking for a TR6...basically a parts car with a good frame, engine that turns and OD drivetrain. I'm not too concerned about the body or interior, but a nice windshield would be a plus. I'm in AL and the closer the better.
Thanks, Rut

I'm in no big rush to buy so the right car would be a cheap one...I would prefer under $2k, but that's not realistic unless someone really wants to get rid of one. My CL search didn't show that one in Columbia and it's a nice car, but better than I need. Y'all don't get too upset with me, but I want to mount one of my TR4a bodies on the TR6 frame with drivetrain. I guess it will be a TR250 clone and it's just a fun project since my TR4a frame is shot and the drivetrain is questionable.
Thanks, Rut

Didn't Know a 4a Body fit a 6 frame?
do you have to modify the frame much?

Pretty much the same frame except for engine mounts and a different brace in the rear.

good chance I'll be selling my 69. Solid frame and I had been collecting parts over the years to restore. Seats are done, new top, rebuilt the tranny but recent health changes is changing that idea. No overdrive and would be under 2k and I'm in Ohio.

That sounds like a possible candidate...would you please send pictures to my email if I pm it to you or post them here?
Thanks, Rut

Thanks, good luck with the TR3 and party!

I picked up a TR6 'parts car' this morning and the frame and suspension look good and the engine is frozen, but what I need is there. After the deal was struck the seller said "the trunk is full of new parts". Not only is the trunk full, but underneath all of the debris inside the car are boxes of new parts...well, they were new in 1992 when they were purchased from TRF and Moss and the original owner from Lafayette, LA saved all of the invoices. Looks like I'll have a good time going thru all the parts and comparing prices from then and now.

sounds like one of those reality shows where they find incredible treasures in abandoned storage units!
