TR6 TR6 Valve cover

Hello all. Got a few questions:

1. My valve cover is bent. I see in the catalogs that you can buy a new aluminum spiffy one, but since my car is a '74, sometimes it says "Must be modified for models 74 forward." What does this mean?

2. How do those super gaskets work--are they utterly preferable to regular gaskets? Do they work with bold old and new valve covers?

The situation is that mine is becoming bent due to over-tightening of the top screws. I would like to either get a new one or a NOS. Any advice is appreciated.

Brad

Not sure why the modification is needed, perhaps something with pollution venting.

The silicon gasket does not fit the cast aluminum cover.

Stay with original, it is baffled where the aluminum is not. Can get oil into the carbs.

Finding an original is not that hard.

Bill, great! Does it fit a '74 just like my original? I'd be happy to take you up on that and pay for postage, etc.

Hopefully someone will answer that like Paul or Ken

Anybody need a 71 head too?

<span style="color: #CC0000">Hi Don !

Would "special shipping and handling" to zip code 00961
exceed $1200. ??

I know "special shipping and handling" for a head gasket
is $84 and a head weighs a bit more than a gasket. LOL

I see that Moss has but 1 valve cover (a reproduction) listed for all the years. The Aluminum V/C requires either removal or some sort of modification of the EGR valve.
