TR6 TR6 trailer hitch?

Does anyone make a trailer hitch for a TR6? I would like to find a clamp-on style to pull a small motorcycle type trailer. I am thinking it would be easier on the car to pull this small trailer instead of loading it full of luggage when traveling.

I do not think anybody manufactures one. I can't believe the demand would be there.
I have seen a couple over the years and think they were custom made. I'm sure a reputable weld shop could design and build one for you.

I have this nice little trailer that is a little over a hundred pounds and pulls so easy. Thought it would look good in BRG and save some wear and tear on my TR6.
Thanks Doug, I kind of figured that, well since I design things for a living I will just do that. I was hoping to simply buy something.

Here's a picture of one for a 3A to help you get started that I saw on ebay. Looks like it just bolts through the rear frame rails and has a spot for the tailpipe to exit.

Tom-

If you want the adventure, there is a 69 TR6 parts car on ebay (item 4642492598) that will be sold in about a day. Aside from several rusty panels, it does include a trailer hitch as seen in the attached pic! Just around the corner from you in Michigan..

Oops, just noticed the pic I pulled from ebay is awfully small, probably better to hop on there and look at it directly to see what must have been a working hitch setup.

Thanks for the tip Randy,
That car seemed to be overbid at $109. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif The hitch is probably the only salvagable part.
I have been giving this some thought and am thinking of a temporary type of hitch that will clamp on and possibly be made of aluminum. Or, since this is for a Brit car, "aluminium".
I think I will draw a CAD model of the bumper and some of the other parts of the rear of the car. Then do some experimentation with a few design ideas.

I have posted this bit on the forum in the past but I once saw a really cool install on a TR6. The guy cut a square hole in his rear belly pan and had a square receiver permanently intalled for a slide-in hitch. Very impressive. Not sure how the hitch mechanism was mounted but can only assume from looking at the professional install of the receiver on the rear that it had to be pretty slick.

Can't say as I only saw the setup from the outside and the driver was no where around. Didn't get down to look underneath the car.

Sorry I am no better help. But someone spent a lot of time working on the idea.

I do not know how the frame is on a TR6 but I U bolted and 11/4 Receiver tube to the last two crossover tubes on the frame of my TR3 to pull my trailer. I did not see how this could be a problem with the weight of the trailer at the ball. The hitch that is on my bike looks not as strong as the TR3 frame with hitch clamp to it.
