TR6 TR6 Tonneau Q

So I'm trying to use the top cover that came w/ the car :

For lack of correct terminology, the black buttons on the cover fit the black with silver riveted caps on the body, (seen on the right side of pic), but don't fit the chrome caps on the vinyl top, (seen on left side of pic). The caps themselves appear to be the same measurement. What am I doing wrong?

Kevin, the chrome "caps" securing the top are not original...but that shouldn't matter. As you say, they're basically the same size (or should be). I don't think YOU'RE doing anything wrong, but worst case scenario would be to buy and install some of the original plastic caps to secure the back of the top.

I have a friend with a TR8 who has the same problem. OEM black plastic snaps on his cover and aftermarket steel male metal on his car. the steel are a little too big, so it replace one or the other.
