Here's a question I hate to ask because it's an old topic. I did a search on the forum but could not find a suitable answer.

It's time to replace my 20 year old Bridgestones. Does anyone have some good words of advice on replacements without breaking the bank? I want the size to be as correct as possible? 195/65's or 205/70's?

The car is just a nice Sunday driver - no autocross, or racing - I want a tire that looks nice, and correct.

Any advice? Thanks.

I went with Kumho Tires ... Solus 205/70/15 I think they were $65 each.
edit: bought them two years ago.

Can't beat that price. Anyone else with suggestions?

Thanks!!!

I believe the size Elliot suggested is the most popular size nowadays.
As far as price, there are always deals..nice 50,75 dollar rebates, local 2 for 1 or buy 3 get 1 free. Just shop around.
As far as brand. The only tire I've read complaints about is the Coker Redline.
There are a lot of good tires out there. I liked my Dunlops and I like my Cooper's even more, but they were not the least expensive even with rebates.

Regardless of where you buy your tires, to help your decision, you can look at www.tirerack.com to look at the tires tread pattern, specs, and reviews.

I've have good success with Kumhos. They are inexpensive and usually rank well within their catagories.

Thanks guys. I went with the Kuhmos, 205/70's.

Much appreciated.
