TR6 TR6 Starter wiring

I put a new starter in my TR6 after replacing the clutch so plenty of time has elapsed and I can't seem to figure out the wiring. I burned a car up when I was 17 so I don't want to have the same experience with the TR. What connector do I use on the back of the starter for the ignition? I'm assuming that both brown wires from the harness go to "C" in my attached image. Here is a photo and some labels.

I'd suggest checking out Dan Master's site: https://www.advanceautowire.com/
He has PDFs of your specific year's wiring diagram. I color-printed out mine and laminated it, 11X17, at Kinkos for $7; an invaluable tool. Other good stuff on the site, too, NFI. Good luck!

11X17 heck, that's too small. Do what I did. Also at Kinkos

That could only be wall art in an LBC Enthusiast's garage. I Like it. I should that for both of my TR's. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

If I had the wall space in my big garage I would hang it on the wall

I did the same as DNK. Poster sized and laminated. Unfortunately I did it the day before Dan came out with his color version, so mine is black and white, but still ultra handy. I struggled for ages with the erroneous diagrams in the Haynes Manual.

I wonder if I can get Dan to give me a color version of my
ski -matic?

Don, the color version is available at advanced auto wire.

Rob, sorry we're sort-of hijacking your thread here. Did you figure out your problem yet?

Looking at the solenoid? All of the wires with ringed ends connect at the stud (c). Brown from the alternator, brown from the ammeter and positive from the battery.
Your white/red wire coming from the ignition should have the 1/4" quick slide end. That should hook into the "c" terminal. Your "a" terminal appears to be a ground which I don't recall being on the original solenoids and doesn't show up in the diagram.

That "A" terminal isn't a ground. That would be what's called an "R" (relay) terminal that is used to supply 12 volts to the coil when starting. If your wiring doesn't have that feature, (it looks like it was used in '73) just disregard it.

John- I have Dan's panel in my car so the stock ski-matic isn't close to my application. That is why I wondered if Dan could make me a pretty colorful one.

Is the hook up on the hi torque starter the same as stock??
