TR6 TR6 sill cap ?

I am in the oh so enjoyable process of cutting out and replacing the door sills, rockers and floors. I removed the DPO's riveted on fiberglass sills that covered the fiberglassed over rust. Sorry to vent but I hate shoddy work and I have come across a lot of it.

I have a question about the orientation of the sill end caps. If I put them in the way they came labeled from TRF then they will be like picture A.

A.

If I put the left side caps on the right side and vica versa, I will get picture B. If I put them in this way it will not allow a lip for dirt and mud to build up on. This seems better to me than leaving a lip, as in picture A and what I think is the original way. Because I have no originals to reference I don't know if I am missing something that will create a problem.

So is picture A, the stock original way?
Can anyone see any problems with putting the caps on as in picture B?

Thanks

The flange had to face out as in picture A to allow for spot welding the end caps to the rocker. I installed mine the way they were originally installed. I did not weld, just used some epoxy and pressed them in.

If you are not interested in originality, you could do the picture B thing.

Thanks for all the help. Looks like I will install them as per the stock original way. I like the epoxy idea in addition to welding them in, anything to not give rust another place to get a toe hold.
