Can the shift boot on a '71 TR6 simply be removed by pulling the bottom portion of the boot from the facia to floor support bracket that surrounds it, or does that whole support bracket assembly have to be removed to undo and remove the bottom part of the shift boot? Many thanks to anyone who can answer this for me.

My recollection is that the center dash support goes over the whole thing and "locks" it in place. But it's been a few years since I last did it and I've lost a few more brains cells so............

I believe that Francois has a leather boot cover that doesn't require pulling the support. It's about 3/4 of the way the page.
