TR6 TR6 Seat Foam Kit

I'm in the process of redoing the seats on my 71 TR6 and haven't been able to identify a mystery part that was included in the foam kit I ordered a while ago from Moss. This part looks like a 5' long piece of foam insulation for 1/2" pipe that was split in half to form a "C" profile. Over the past couple of weeks I've placed 4 phone calls and an email to Moss, with no response on what this is so I'm posting this question in hopes someone in the forum has some ideas on what this is.

While I'm on the seat subject, the side back support foam pieces have a non-woven fabric attached to them but I've been unable to determine how these are attached to the seat back frame. They somehow fit onto the wire support frame that is attached to the seat back. Can anyone provide some guidance on this as well?

Thanks,
Ron

I've got no idea on the "c" foam. Probably some guy at the packaging plant that's still snickering when he thinks about you sctraching your head over that pipe insulation he cut in half and stuffed into the box.
On the seat backs, from what I rember (it's been a while since I did a 6) the foam gets glued directly to the seat frame rails.... I think

Ron,

Give Mark Voelkers a call at British Auto, 1-800-458-4575. He's rebuilding my seats right now (70 TR-6) and I saw the same piece of "C" shaped foam in my kit. I'm sure he'll have the answer.

Mark
