Recently acquired a used original 'take-off' set of seat covers (i.e. the original upholstery pieces, not aftermarket seat covers). They are in good shape, and are responding well to a bit of cleaning. I plan to have a local upholsterer redo my driver's seat using one of the sets of covers. They are the 70-71 (72 also?) highback TR6 seats.
Question... I know the seats themselves are different side to side- not only the recliner arrangements but also the shape, I believe. I want to use the passenger side seat cover from the newly acquired set, since it has of course seen less wear. It looks like it should work fine, to me - I don't think the covers themselves are any different. Does anybody see any problems with this though? I guess I could leave it up to the upholsterer, but I don't really want to clean up both sets of covers right now!... I am hopeful I may get done (the whole job - covers and labour) for <$350, which I would be pretty happy with.
