TR6 TR6 Replacement Convertible Top

I bought new side weather strips along with the header rail weather strip.

My car came to me without a top nor a frame. I bought a frame that has pretty nice handles, they seem to fit very snug. I'm not looking to create a concourse car here, just a nice little driver to keep my life in balance while I manage 3 young kids and an ailing mother who has Alzheimer's. This TR6 is more of a therapy outlet for me.

I do appreciate all the great info I get here - expect to hear a lot from me in the coming months, and years.

Suggestion was not meant to create a concours by any means. It's just easier to fix these things while you have it apart than later. Also the ride is much quieter than with a rattling or squeaking loose top.

In any case, make sure that the screws that hold the handles to the locater pin are in tight. They can work loose without you knowing and create a hole(s) in the front of the top if pressure is applied when the top is down.

Paul,

your experience and opinion is always valued by me. I have your site bookmarked and frequently peruse your pages (my 74 was originally mimosa, but some dingleberry painted it orangish-red).

so feel free to offer your opinion to me any time. I was just letting you guys know how and why I ended up here.

Plus the fact I always lusted after a TR6 when I was in hi-school. It just wasn't a reliable mode of transport for a 17 year old who was hot on the dating circuit. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/lol.gif

Hey, we're (I'm) happy to have you here with us. Stick around and enjoy the adventures and trials and tribulations that we all go through. Look at poor alana and Tinster.

But they'll be back and at em' before you know it.

Funny about the two colors. My wife's first choice was red, but the Mimosa was on the lot and the red had to be ordered, so Mimosa it was!

And we all need balancing acts. I have to deal with traffic as I drive 200-300 miles some days and getting home to play with this car is a great stress relief from whacky nuts on cell phones weaving in and out of traffic.
