What's the correct black for the radiator on a 73? Should it be Gloss or semi gloss... I plan on using POR15 paint products.

Thanks,

Victor

Satin/semi-gloss looks right to me.

I haven't used the por paints but from what I understand they are pretty thick. It might end up effecting your cooling ability.

You want the thinest layer of paint possible on the radiator. POR15 is NOT the stuff to use.

When I was running a stock-style radiator, and after a rebuild from a radiator shop, I painted the frame but left the cooling fins unpainted. Looked good and worked well.

Hi There vcolper;

I had a `72 and had the Orig. Rad. boiled out etc by a Radiator Shop: They painted it a "Thin" coat of Satin Blk:

"DON`T USE THE POR":

"DON`T PAINT THE FINS"! Just the frame work:

Not using POR15 makes sense...it is too thick and probably will affect cooling, specifically on the cooling fins. I cant buy paint from Eastwood...I'm overseas...Puerto Rico. I thought of POR 15 cause I distribute it down here. I'll see what I can come up with.
Thanks for the advice.

Didn't Dale say he couldn't get POR 15 in PR?
