I'm Chip McCoy from Pittsburgh, PA. In college I had a basket case Austin Healey 3000 MkIII 1966. As an Air Force Lt I tried to buy a blue 1970 TR6 in Denver Colorado in 1984 but the Credit Union wouldn't loan money for such an old car:smile: So bought a new Mustang Convertible instead. Now retired on the family farm found this 1973 TR6 in great shape in Nashville. Drove back from Nashville to Pittsburgh at 75-80 mph. Working thru new headlights, radio, interior lights and enjoying regular drives for errands.

Chip - welcome to BCF. Great looking TR you have there!

I think many of us had "basket cases" in college. In 1967 my college drive was a 1955 Jaguar. Great car - and at 8mpg, our 28¢ per gallon gas prices were affordable.

Good to have you with us.

Welcome to the British Car Forum. You have a great looking TR6. I also have a ’73 and waited 40+ years to get it. I know you will get all the glitches worked out in your car.
Be sure to post any questions you may have in the Triumph section of the forum; you will get all the help you need.

Lovely TR, good luck with it and many happy miles! PJ (y)
