People seem to think highly of Brad Penn oil.
Sundown are you familar with the ZDDP "controversy" ?
If not I'm sure you soon will be.
No doubt in my mind that a ZDDP component in lubricants is needed during the break-in process of a new camshaft and probably for 500 miles thereafter.. Whether or not it's still needed after the cam lobes and tappets are burnished during their mating process remains questionable in my mind.
However I still use oil that still contains ZDDP since I can find Valvoline VR1 20w-50 locally and on sale frequently enough where I pay a little over 3 dollars a quart.
There are supplements that contain ZDDP if you have a supply of regular Castrol 20w-50, such as blue containers of STP or Rislone with added zinc.
Dash pot oil. Well I use a special concoction, the major component is Bars Rear Main Seal Repair Oil.It's about 30 weight and I use it to keep the damper well's O-ring oil seal lively Straight is perfectly fine, BTW. I use a concoction with 3 in 1 oil or Marvel Mystery Oil @ 20%
But for simplicity sake just using whatever you use in your engine is fine too. It only takes 3.5 cc's per carb.
