TR6 TR6 Oil Pan and head gasket leak??--help

I have all the bugs worked out of my new motor and restoration , everything is working great including the Toyota 4 pot brakes, I cant believe the difference in stopping power-------but I have one problem--oil leaks. My pan gasket is seeping out oil all around, the flange was nice and straight, new gasket and applied a thin film of silicone and torqued the bolts evenly, What is the secret to leak free pan?, and I forget--does the pan pull out easily with engine installed?
I have retorqued my head once to 73lb. and the oil seepage on the distributor side seemed to stop for awhile but now it is seeping again, do I retorque again and to what lb.?, I know Tr6 Bill went through this awhile back but I never saw the fix or the outcome.
 
Allan, take the pan down, clean both mating surfaces dry, use a new gasket and apply liberal coat of Permatex Aviation Sealant to one side of the gasket, let dry for several hours, recoat and lay on pan surface, coat the dry side of gasket liberally, let dry for hours, recoat and offer up pan to bottom of block. Bolt down (bolt up?), making sure you use both flat and spring washers. Torque evenly, retorque after a few running hours.
 
Thanks Bill, does the Permatex stay pliable ?, what ever happened to your head seepage problem, did re-torquing solve it?---------------Has anybody seen a rubber pan gasket available for the Triumph?

Justin Wagner offered one for awhile, made of thick, soft silicone rubber. ISTR he mentioned that he was about ready to start offering them again; but they're not listed on his web site. You might ask him.

The other option of course is to buy a sheet of rubber from some place like McMaster-Carr, and cut your own gasket from it.
