Water pump out, alternator loosened. Yep - fan belt is impossible to remove. Looks like the motor mounts have seen better days.

I've heard that the standard ones have a short loft expectancy, and that the TR8 mounts fit and are of a better quality. TRF also seems to have upgraded ones.

Any ideas or recommendations?

Thanks!

I've been using the TRF ones for 2 years now and can say that they are holding up quite well..but then again I cant speak for the others on the market. The fan belt on most TR6's gets stuck on the cross bar and is IMO a design error on Triumphs part.. Oh, and I noted Ratco has this fixed on the frame they manufacture. Still it could be the motor mounts have collapsed or shifted and replacement or re-adjusting will be necessary. You'll see what I meen when you get in to it.

I would also check the rear, on my 4 it split apart, probably from being covered w/ grease. It wasn't terrible to change from underneath but would be a snap from the top with the tunnel off.

TRF's motor mounts are definitely a superior quality. I have used the mounts from the other big vendor and they failed within 2 years. The TRF mounts, I have been told, are unique to them and are visibly of a much higher quality.
