TR6 TR6 lighting questions

Hello,
I repaired my rear tunnel light and want to test it to make sure it works. How do I hook it up to the battery to test? The black is ground, but do I just hook up the solid purple wire to positive? What do I do with the purple/black wire? Should I put a fuse in between the light and battery?

My second question is has anyone ever added lighting to the center console? I wanted to put a light in where the heater controls are in the later model TR6. If you have done this, do you have a pic or can you tell me where you purchased one from?

Thanks for your help,
Kevin

Kevin, I have a battery booster like this

Just hook the red to the purple wire and the black to the black wire and turn the unit on.

Hopefully you won't have this happen

I believe there is purple, but book show purple-white as the other wire not PB, and black as ground. I think purple/white is wired to the door switches, and purple wire is hot so you can turn the switch on in the car and the black makes the ground with the doors closed, Mind didnt have a tunnel light and I had to figure that one out but to test just hook the black to a 12 v source negative and the touch the purple/white to the Plus and the lamp shoud come on, touch the purple wire and move the switch and the light should illuminate, ooo big words

Don, my new switch looks like your bottom picture, which why I went back and repaired my original switch and am asking how to do it correctly this time. Sorry, but I did mean purple/white. I have a black, solid purple, and purple/white wire. I will test and let you know what happens. Thanks,
Kevin

Kevin, this is what the wires on the light should look like. Is that part of your question?
