Walking thru WalMart last week, not something I normally do, I came across this jack:

I'm hoping this is suitable for the TR6; I was working off memory here, as my car came without a jack, and I don't have my car here locally to check the jack against the frame height.

So, will this work OK?
 
It should work fine. Another option is to return it and go to your local junk yard and get a similar jack fairly inexpensively. Many of the jacks in the junked cars have never been used.
That said, they could end up costing what you paid for the one you have.
 
I think it is fine Kevin - original jacks do turn up if you really want one. Until then this will work. Just be careful if there is no way of locating/hold it on the frame.

Just be careful with those scissor jacks, at least the ones I see here, and don't lift more than it takes to get a wheel off. They can tilt unexpectedly at the pivot points, especially the ones near the base.
I had it happens a couple of times and once it does it once, it seems to happen more frequently.
 
Nothing like the original, I use this scissor jack: https://www.gregsmithequipment.com/PhotoGallery.asp?ProductCode=TPBJ in my shop.

It is much larger than the factory jack, it is heavy, stable and VERY heavy duty, and multi-purpose. I find it invaluable in the shop both on the ground and on my 4-post lift. It is not inexpensive either but can be found for less.

Mine came with all the adapters, plate, etc shown on the link. But I've only used the base jack.
 
No rubber with mine, Tom, but for $22, can't complain too much. I may get a small scrap piece, and stick it in the box. It's amazing how much TRF gets for them!
 
For around $25, you can buy a mini-floor jack. I have one that came in a roadside emergency kit. I carry it if I'm far enough away from home. Just like a garage size jack only smaller and lighter.
